I have just set up a new SFI training site  for all my team to use as an additional focal point alongside the existing SFI website. We can use it to publish team news and updates as well as training and “how to’s” etc. I suspect it may well evolve as time goes on and it will find it’s own place in our SFI routine. Continuing (from Newsletter #41) with the various ways to promote your SFI and TripleClicks Gateways, this time I will quickly discuss Banners and Text Ads.

 

Banners and Text Ads

 

Banner Advertising consists of placing an image created or supplied by you and submitted to other people’s websites. You supply the image and the target link that you want your prospects to visit.
SFI provide us with many eye-catching banners for our use. Go to the Marketing Center ( https://www.sfimg.com/Resources/MarketingCenter ) and you will find all the banners you can handle on the Marketing Aids page.
You can use these banners on Traffic Exchanges and other websites that accept banner advertising. Some will be free and others will require a fee. Usually, the more high profile the site, the greater the charge will be to place your banner there.

Banners are not always the best method to advertise your Gateway because they tend to be overlooked when people become familiar with them on the web pages. Think how often you click on to a web page and take notice of the banners that are almost always present. If you are like me, you probably skim past them unless they happen to be particulary eye-catching or promoting something that is relevant to you at the time.
That being said though, banner ads should not be overlooked when promoting your business because they can still produce a steady and fairly substantial amount of traffic for you, as they do for me on a daily basis.

 

Text Advertising is virtually the same as Banner Advertising but with text ads instead of banner images. Text ads and text ad exchanges are not as popular as other forms of promotion these days but again, as with the banners, Text Advertising is still a very relevant method of traffic generation and I would never ignore it as a traffic source. Text Ads are usually cheaper to buy and there are many, many sites to place free Text
Ads.
